The ISH is proud to be one of the partners organising a one-day symposium aimed at early career researchers in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 17 July. The event, Bridging the Generations in Science, aims to share some of the latest discoveries in cardiovascular research, and nurture the next generation of investigators.

Several ISH representatives were in attendance at the ESH Meeting in Milan at the end of this month. Attendees including ISH President George Stergiou, Past President Bryan Williams, Secretary Kazu Kario, and Council Members Erika Jones, Muscha Steckelings and Dagnovar Aristizabal.

This World Hypertension Day, we encourage healthcare professionals to have open conversations with patients about medication access, cost, beliefs, & any barriers they face sticking to medication.

The International Society of Hypertension (ISH) wishes to invite proposals from individuals experienced in administering and managing projects for medical based charities, associations, universities and hospitals or related organisations and ideally those with a global remit and some experience of working with Moodle Platforms. Deadline 25th May 2025.

The 31st Annual Meeting of the Argentine Society of Hypertension (SAHA) was held in Buenos Aires from 23 to 26 April 2025. Chaired by Dr Diego Fernandez (President, Organising Committee) and Dr Marcelo Choi (President, Scientific Committee), the congress attracted 2,100 registered participants and featured more than 120 presentations of original research.

World Hypertension Day (WHD) will be marked on Saturday 17 May 2025, with May Measurement Month (MMM), established in 2017 by the ISH, running from 1 May to 31 July every year. Both initiatives aim to highlight the importance of better prevention, detection and treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension).

The 19th Portuguese Congress of Hypertension and Global Cardiovascular Risk took place earlier this year, from 13 to 16 February, 2025, at the Grande Real Santa Eulália Hotel in Albufeira, Algarve in Portugal.

The International Society of Hypertension today marks World Adherence Day, a global initiative which highlights the importance of adherence to medications and healthcare plans to manage conditions such as hypertension.

An ISH-endorsed initiative to improve hypertension care in Thailand was successfully held in Bangkok this month. The Hypertension Camp from the Thai Hypertension Society (THS) helps equip healthcare workers to become champions in hypertension care in the hospitals where they work.
