The International Society of Hypertension (ISH) is the premier global body dedicated to research, education and clinical excellence in hypertension and related cardiometabolic research and treatment.
The society welcomes applications from trainees, junior and established scientists, clinicians, health care providers, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, community healthcare workers, members of the public, patients, carers and journalists, all with a common interest in hypertension research.
We have three membership categories including options to join the ISH for free as an Associate Member or a Trainee. There are also reduced and free memberships available for some parts of the world.
Members
Individuals who have accomplished original research in the field of hypertension or related topics and / or those who have made demonstrable contributions to hypertension through clinical involvement and who are interested in promoting the aims of the Society are eligible to join the ISH as a Member.
A Member shall pay annual membership fees and receive enhanced membership benefits.
Associate Members
The category of Associate Member is open to anyone with an interest in hypertension and / or the work of the ISH including nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, community healthcare workers, members of the public, patients, carers and journalists.
Membership comes at no cost for Associate Members.
Trainees
The Trainee category is designed for postdoctoral fellows, residents and graduate students (Masters or PhD). This is a special opportunity for any new researcher or clinical scientist undertaking a higher degree to enhance their curriculum vitae (CV) / résumé / biographical (bio) data.
Membership comes at no cost for Trainees, but a Trainee must confirm annually that they are still in training.
Applicants for the ISH Trainee category are required to submit the following documentation as part of their application.
A two-page Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English.

ISHF is a symbol of excellence. The election as an International Society of Hypertension Fellow (ISHF) recognises and honours Members of the Society who have distinguished themselves through excellence in clinical practice or research in the field of hypertension.
