African School of Hypertension for Non-Physician Health Workers
This training and mentorship over four months, set up by the ISH Africa Regional Advisory Group, offers training on diagnosing and managing hypertension, and on referring patients to specialist physicians when needed. STRIDE BP e-learning programme
STRIDE BP’s e-learning platform, endorsed by the ISH, the European Society of Hypertension and the World Hypertension League, includes interactive modules dealing with:
- Office blood pressure measurement
- Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
- Home blood pressure monitoring
Each module takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. Once you have completed all 3 modules you may take an evaluation test (20 minutes) to be awarded with a STRIDE BP certificate.

This online course aims to help program managers and implementers in designing, planning, and implementing a hypertension control program. We know that each setting is unique, and every factor involved in implementing this type of program cannot be addressed in one course. However, we believe this course provides the basic knowledge necessary for successful program implementation and includes useful tips relevant to different settings.
Although the main target audience is program managers and implementers, the information provided here will certainly be relevant to other types of personnel like physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and community-health workers.

The ISH has joined forces with the Omron Academy, an online platform for continuous medical education for healthcare professionals. The Omron Academy offers virtual courses on hypertension that are endorsed by the British and Irish Hypertension Society, the European Society of Hypertension and the International Society of Hypertension.
Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI)
