May Measurement Month (MMM) was initiated in 2017 by the ISH and is now a standalone charity. MMM is a global blood pressure screening awareness campaign, aiming to highlight the importance of measuring blood pressure and raising awareness of the dangers posed by elevated blood pressure.
The ISH is a member of the HEARTS partner forum, a collaboration between 11 organisations dedicated to hypertension control which is led by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Partners support governments in their implementation of the HEARTS package – the core technical part of the Global Hearts Initiative launched by the WHO and the US Centers for Disease Control in 2016.
The initiative takes a public health approach to treating hypertension and other CVD risk factors at the primary health care level.
Forum partners support countries in various ways, including providing technical expertise, catalytic funding, capacity building and evidence generation and dissemination.

One of the goals of any international society is to represent the interests of its constituents around the world.
The International Society of Hypertension (ISH) has a unique responsibility in this regard, which is achieved in large part through the six ISH Regional Advisory Groups (RAGs) for (1) Africa (2) Americas (3) Asia Pacific - APAC (4) Europe (5) Middle East and North Africa - MENA (6) South and Central Asia - SACA. The RAGs provide ISH representation globally, distil regional issues and encourage and enhance education, good clinical practice and biomedical research in the fields of hypertension and associated cardiovascular diseases and offer a unique infrastructure and platform for networking and “cross-talk” between Societies.
An ISH Affiliated Society logo (shown right) has been created for use by national and regional societies in their print and promotional material. Please contact the ISH Secretariat should you wish to receive a copy.
