Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are now just four weeks away from what promises to be a truly memorable ISH meeting in the beautiful city of Cartagena. The program is finalized and packed with excitement, featuring over 90 sessions and 118 speakers who will present the latest and most groundbreaking advances in the field of hypertension.
Our planning has been meticulous, ensuring that voices from all corners of the globe are represented. We have included perspectives from clinicians, public health researchers, and laboratory scientists, balancing contributions from both early-career professionals and seasoned experts. Diversity is at the heart of this meeting, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity across regions, genders, and fields of expertise.
In addition to the main sessions, we are thrilled to highlight two special events: a -full day symposium networking event on 18th September organized by the ISH Capacity Building Network (Mentorship and Training, New Investigator and Women in Hypertension Research Committees) (https://ish2024.org/ish2024-cbn-pre-event-symposium/), and an Ambulatory Blood Pressure Course hosted by the Latin American Society of Hypertension.
With more than 400 abstracts submitted and over 1,100 delegates already registered, this promises to be a dynamic and engaging gathering.
We’ve designed at least 10 different session formats to foster meaningful interactions among peers. For educational purposes, we have curated “How-To” and “Need-to-Know” sessions, where state-of-the-art practices and knowledge will be shared, providing valuable skills to all participants. Our “Coffee-ISH” sessions are dedicated to discussing the most novel, original, and disruptive ideas in hypertension, available whilst you enjoy a cup of Colombia’s finest coffee. Social activities are also set to showcase the vibrant spirit of Colombia. The inauguration ceremony will feature traditional Colombian dance and music, followed by a lively Welcome Reception. On Saturday, we’re excited to host the Soiree event, which will replace the typical gala dinner and will be a more casual affair. Expect an evening of delicious food, drink, music, and great company as we celebrate the 30th ISH meeting against the stunning backdrop of the Colombian Caribbean Sea.
