ISH Capacity Building Network

The ISH Capacity Building Network (CBN) offers career development and networking opportunities for early and mid-career researchers and those from under-represented backgrounds.

The CBN, launched in November 2023, will organise webinars and workshops, produce podcasts, and create online videos and resources to help equip investigators with the skills they need to progress in research.

The CBN is a collaboration between three ISH committees: the Women in Hypertension Research Committee (WiHRC), the New Investigator Committee (NIC), and the Mentorship and Training Committee (MTC) and lead by the chairs of these committees.

Resources

The first resources developed by the CBN are a series of videos on putting together a winning conference abstract. Watch the first videos on this page. View all videos on YouTube.

The videos are part of an Emerging Leaders programme from the CBN, which is initially focussing on providing comprehensive guidance on developing conference abstracts.

Tips from the videos have also been brought together into one document.

Events

The CBN will hold a symposium in Cartagena as part of the ISH2024 Scientific Meeting. The symposium will be held for a full day on Wednesday 18th September and feature seminars, a grant writing bootcamp, an awards ceremony, and many opportunities to network with colleagues and leaders in hypertension research.
