AstraZeneca Award
The award was endowed by Astra Pharmaceuticals AB in 1979 and presented to a distinguished investigator responsible for outstanding work related to clinical pharmacology and therapy of arterial hypertension. Discontinued in 2016.

ISH Award of Excellence for Research in Cardiovascular Health and Disease in Women
- The ISH Women in Hypertension Research Committee established this award in 2018 to recognise and encourage research in cardiovascular health and disease in women.
- This award shall be made to a person who, in the opinion of the ISH Awards Committee, has demonstrated a track record of excellent research in the field of cardiovascular health and disease in women and contributed significantly to advancing knowledge in this area.

ISH Austin Doyle Award
- This award was established to make the contribution of Austin Doyle, Past President of the Society and Founding Chairman of the High Blood Pressure Research Council of Australia.
- It will be awarded to a graduate, who is within five years of post-graduate qualification.
- The finalists will be selected from among eligible presenters on the basis of the abstract scores allocated for oral presentations.
- The winner will be selected from shortlisted presentations relevant to clinical medicine by a judging panel consisting of representatives of the Awards Committee, or their representative(s), in an open competition during the Biennial Scientific Meeting.
- The winner must be willing to join the ISH as a member (if not already a member) following receipt of the award. Previous winners of this award are not eligible for nomination a second time.

ISH Distinguished Mentor Award
This Award (new from 2018) will honour a member of the ISH who has made outstanding contributions to the mentoring of students/trainees and/or junior faculty in the field of hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
Letters of nomination should be submitted to the Mentorship and Training Committee detailing the accomplishments of the Mentor. This can include any of this non-exhaustive list:
- Intellectual leadership; supporting excellence in research,
- Presentation and publication; creating a supportive environment for research
- Scholarship; providing the resources necessary to take full advantage of institutional
- Academic and professional opportunities (publications, conferences, networking, etc.)
- Helping mentees overcome problems, discord, or barriers
The nomination letter should be accompanied by a copy of the mentors CV.
- The Award must be collected in person at the ISH Biennial Scientific Meeting.
- The Award recipient will be honoured with a lecture on their “Philosophy of Successful Mentoring” to be given to trainees at the New Investigator Committee Session to be held at the ISH Biennial Scientific Meeting.
- Self-nomination will NOT be accepted.
- Nominations for previous winners of any other ISH award are not normally received, but might be considered if there is an outstanding independent case for this award.
- Officers of the Scientific Council of the ISH and members of the ISH Awards Committee are not eligible to be nominated. Exceptionally, other members of the ISH Council may be eligible.

ISH Honour for Senior Women Researchers

ISH Mentorship Scholar Award
There is a critical need to establish and support high quality training programs within low/middle income countries that can enhance the early careers of researchers in the basic science, clinical and public health areas of hypertension. To help meet this need the Society is offering awards to mentors in these countries who have the expertise and resources to offer fellowship training in hypertension disciplines to young investigators.

ISH The Stevo Julius Award
This award was given to a person or persons demonstrating exceptional and continuous commitment to the dissemination of information, knowledge and skills in the field of hypertension to: (a) the general public; (b) the medical community; (c) specialists in the hypertension field; and (d) investigators involved in hypertension research.
