ISH delivers joint session with Chinese Hypertension League

01 Jul 2026: The ISH was delighted to deliver a joint session with the Chinese Hypertension League over the weekend on blood pressure monitoring and hypertension management.

The session, part of the 12th Scientific Meeting on Blood Pressure Monitoring held in Yinchuan, China, had a total of 380 attendees, with the ISH-CHL session offering virtual a
well as in-person attendance.

Six speakers covered topics including:

  • current diagnostic issues in hypertension clinical practice
  • nocturnal hypertension diagnosis and management
  • optimal 24-hour BP control
  • BP variability assessment
  • new technologies and devices
  • and new drugs for uncontrolled and resistant hypertension.

A 30-minute discussion segment facilitated academic exchange between on-site and online participants. The panel discussed the role of cuffless blood pressure and office blood pressure measurement in hypertension diagnosis, blood pressure variations during exercise, and perspectives on new antihypertensive agents in Asian populations.
