Following a decision by the ISH Council to significantly accelerate scientific progress and knowledge dissemination in the field of hypertension, the ISH has committed to holding its ISH Scientific Meeting annually, starting in 2026.
We now invite national societies of hypertension and cardiac societies, or scientists and research groups with a strong background in the field of hypertension, to submit a bid to host the ISH 2027 Meeting.
In the first instance, we are looking to receive expressions of interest to host the 2027 Scientific Meeting by
9th January 2026 (deadline: midnight UK time).

Eligibility to host the ISH 2027 meeting
To ensure global rotation and outreach, expressions of interest and bids are invited from societies and groups in Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific and South and Central Asia. ISH 2026 and 2028 Scientific Meetings will be held in the Europe and MENA regions. Hence, bids from Europe and MENA will not be considered for the ISH 2027 meeting.
Delegate profile
Recent ISH Scientific Meetings were attended by circa 3,000 delegates from over 60 countries and comprising of hypertension specialists, cardiologists, internists, nephrologists, general practitioners, basic scientists, nurses, allied health care professionals, and trainees.
Bid submission criteria
The following criteria are essential and will form the basis for the ISH Council’s evaluation of all proposals. In their final bid document, societies and groups bidding to host our 2027 meeting will be required to address each point comprehensively. If you wish to express an interest to host the meeting, please consider now whether you will be able to meet these requirements:
Local Support:Firm commitment and support from a national hypertension society or a society in a closely related field within the region, coupled with strong endorsement from local hypertension leaders and societies. Please specify if bids incorporate a preferred Professional Conference Organiser (PCO).
Venue Quality and Capacity:Availability of a high-quality, modern convention centre with flexible spaces to accommodate all aspects of the meeting: general/plenary sessions, five parallel scientific sessions, a substantial industry exhibition, industry symposia, dedicated poster sessions. The social programme will include a welcome reception, a gala event - open to all delegates, as well as a Presidential Dinner.
Accessibility:Excellent international air accessibility and cost-effectiveness of travel for global attendees.
Accommodation:A wide range of hotel rooms in close proximity to the meeting venue, ensuring options are available to suit all delegate with different budgets.
Host Experience:Demonstrated experience of the host organisation in successfully managing or partnering on similar-scale national or international scientific meetings.
Financial Viability:A clear outline budget should be provided demonstrating financial viability of the bid. Include information on resources available to support the meeting's preparation and delivery, including financial or in-kind support from local and national government and other organisations.
City Appeal:The city's appeal for international attendees (e.g., unique scientific opportunities, as well as cultural aspects).
- Innovation / legacy:Proposed optional incorporation of innovative or new programme features to enhance the meeting experience and have lasting impact on the destination and wider community.
Financial liability
The successful local organising team must sign a formal contract committing to pay the ISH one half (50%) of the resulting surplus income from the event. The ISH does not assume responsibility for any loss associated with the event.
