We would like to applaud all those who have carried out local or regional initiatives to mark World Hypertension Day (celebrated this year over a week from 17-24 May 2016). We would also like to thank the organisations (listed below) who have kindly contributed reports and videos of their World Hypertension Day activities to share with colleagues around the world.
Initiative To Increase The Availability of Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
The Belgian Hypertension Committee and Belgian National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance aim to make ambulatory blood pressure monitoring an essential part of the coverage provided to patients with proven or suspected hypertension.
Chinese Hypertension League World Hypertension Day Report
In support of WHD2016 and the Global Blood Pressure Screening Program, the Chinese Hypertension League (CHL) and World Hypertension League (WHL) Beijing Office jointly called on academic organizations, units, companies, CHL Council members and related personnel to respond actively to the proposal of WHL, including organizing activities surrounding blood pressure screening and prevention of chronic diseases between April and May.

“Liaoyuan Project” Academic Tour Successfully Held in Lhasa
The “Liaoyuan Project” Academic Tour, led by CHL, BHCA, CSC, CHC, CPMA , organized by the Tibet Medical Association and sponsored by Bayer, was successfully held in Lhasa, Tibet on July 2nd, 2016.
