8th ISH African Hypertension Teaching Seminar

April 18th 2016 to April 19th 2016

Maputo, Mozambique


Dear Colleague,

We are pleased to inform you that the International Society of Hypertension Africa Regional Advisory Group (RAG) will be hosting its 8th Hypertension Teaching Seminar in Maputo, Mozambique, April 18 - 19, 2016, in collaboration with the European Society of Hypertension (ESH), the International Forum for Hypertension Control and Prevention in Africa (IFHA), and Mozambican Heart Association (AMOCOR).

The Seminar is designed for medical professionals up to the age of 50 years and residing in Africa, who are involved in the management and/or research in hypertension or hypertension-related fields. The Faculty consists of internationally recognized hypertension experts. The language will be English. There will be room for discussion after each presentation. We will also accept abstracts on hypertension research in Africa for oral or poster presentation, to be discussed with the international faculty.  

Depending on sponsorship, the seminar will welcome about 50 attendees, about half from Mozambique and half from other African countries. The organization will cover economy travel, meals and accommodation for 3 nights, but no per-diems. International travel will be coordinated by the organization and flights/transportation within Mozambique as much as possible by local Organizer, Prof. A. Damasceno. For information, you would be expected to arrive in Maputo on Sunday, 17 April, 2016 and leave Maputo on Wednesday, 20 April, 2016. We would appreciate if you could mention your potential travel schedule on the application form. We also advise to check on visa requirements for entry in Mozambique in due time. Exceptionally, travel can be arranged by the attendee with a refund by the ISH Secretariat. The Organizers should be duly informed before this option is adopted for prior approval.
