Inspired by the enthusiastic feedback on our Athens and San Francisco 2014 New Investigator Meeting Programmes, the ISH New Investigator Committee (NIC) is pleased to be collaborating again this year with the Council on Hypertension of the American Heart Association (AHA) at the time of their Washington D.C. Scientific Sessions (16-19 September 2015).
Langeza's first oral presentation was at the ESH 2015 Meeting in Milan in June. Speaking about this experience she said, 'It was a privilege to have the chance to meet such great researchers from the top teaching schools. I also enjoyed the opportunity to meet the hypertension experts during the ISH New Investigator Committee networking event.'
Congratulations to the Asian Pacific Society (APSH) and Indonesian Society of Hypertension on organising a successful 11th Asia Pacific Congress of Hypertension (APCH 2015) in Bali in June. A report and pictures of this event follow.
Professor Neil R. Poulter was made President-Elect of the ISH at the recent Council meeting in Milan. He will be President from September 2016 to October 2018. Neil Poulter is the current chairman of Preventive Cardiovascular Medicine at Imperial College London, UK and the Co-Director of the Imperial Clinical Trials Unit.
Over 80 new investigators and senior ISH Faculty members from 26 countries mingled with colleagues and enjoyed the spectacular views of the Milan cathedral during the ISH New Investigator Committee Networking and Mentorship event on 13 June in Milan.

World Hypertension Day 2014 was marked by staff from the University of Glasgow and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde by holding an event in Costco Supermarket in Glasgow. Free blood pressure checks as well as cardiovascular heath advice was offered to shoppers by a team of doctors and nurses. Pictures follow from this successful event.
