It is almost 6 months since I assumed the Presidency of ISH and I am delighted to update you on the many activities that have taken place during this time. In the last newsletter you received my vision and goals for ISH. I would now like to share with you how these goals are being addressed and how we are progressing the vision of the Society.
Nadine is based at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio and currently working on several clinical research projects pertaining to the transcatheter management of structural heart disease.
The December 2014 issue of ISH Hypertension News is now available. Contributions include a report from the ISH President, Rhian Touyz, informing us about her first half year in office, updates from the New Investigator Committee and much more.
New ASH-ISH Hypertension Guidelines Offer Practical, Clinical Information for Doctor and Patient Around the Globe
The ASH-ISH guidelines have been written to provide a straightforward approach to managing hypertension in the community, for practitioners in low and middle-income countries as well as developed countries.

Chandka Medical College/ Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) Larkana was honoured to host the 17th Annual Symposium of the Pakistan Hypertension League from 7-9 February 2014. Prof. Saeed Ahmad Sangi and Dr. Jawaid Akbar Sial were nominated as Convener and Secretary of the symposium respectively.

Kathryn works in Dr. Richard Wainford’s Laboratory of Cardio-Renal research located at Boston University School of Medicine in the Department of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics and the Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute. Her lab focuses on the central neural control of fluid and electrolyte homeostasis and blood pressure regulation.
