The second Cycle of the successful 'Certificate Course in Management of Hypertension' programme was launched on 22nd October. It will take place from October 2017 to July 2018 in 36 cities across India.
Certificate Course in Management of Hypertension, Cycle-II
Certificate Course in Management of Hypertension (CCMH) is a joint certification program designed, implemented and delivered by Public Health Foundation of India in collaboration with academic partners Center for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC), International Society of Hypertension (ISH) and the British and Irish Hypertension Society (BIHS). The educational grant has been provided by Sun Pharma Laboratories Limited. The total duration of the course is ten (10) months (Oct 2017 – Jul 2018), with a once-a-month contact session, which will be conducted on designated weekends at 41 Regional Centres across 36 cities, 17 states and 1 Union Territory in India.
The CCMH Secretariat has also launched a dedicated App for this program with various salient features like interactive chat platforms, scheduling of sessions and accessibility to study material and many more for its stakeholders.
Adoption and Global Expansion of the program
The successful implementation of the program prompted the State Governments of Madhya Pradesh and Meghalaya in India to adopt the program for the capacity building of its medical officers under the National Health Mission and DoNER. Many more state governments are in the process of taking up the program under their respective National Health Mission programs.
We are also proud to inform you that recently, the Pan-African Society of Cardiology (PASCAR) has signed an MoU with the Public Health Foundation of India to implement this program across 65 countries in the African region.
CCMH Cycle-II has enrolled a total 616 Primary Care Physicians (PCP’s) in 41 Regional Centres across India and enrollment is still ongoing at a few centres.
