The What’s on my desk” (Media New Investigator Committee (NIC) Working Group) initiative will run monthly - primarily via the NIC ISH Facebook/Twitter accounts. In this feature, senior scientists in hypertension/cardiovascular disease will be approached to provide the name/details for an article that they are interested in at the moment. This will provide our members with a unique opportunity to see articles which are of interest to field leaders in hypertension research.
Celebrate World Hypertension Day (WHD) on 17 May and contribute to improving awareness of Hypertension. For the five-year period 2013-2018, the theme of WHD will be ‘Know Your Numbers’ with the goal of increasing high blood pressure awareness in all populations around the world.
The ISH New Investigator Network recently created a platform on LinkedIn for young professionals in hypertension research to connect, find researchers in similar fields of interest and to establish exciting new collaborations and research ideas.
Kathryn works in Dr. Richard Wainford’s Laboratory of Cardio-Renal research located at Boston University School of Medicine in the Department of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics and the Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute. Her lab focuses on the central neural control of fluid and electrolyte homeostasis and blood pressure regulation.
